Bluetooth Spam released

8 September 2008 – 22:08

I found out I had released the BlueSpam software I wrote for the Kunstvlaai bluetooth spamming installation already a while ago, but never got to announcing it. Well, here it is. It is completely untested and comes without any warranty, guarantee or fitness for any particular purpose, but is should work :-)

It is written as a Python app with a Django admin frontend for deciding which media files to spam. It will (try to) send anything you upload to any bluetooth phone within range. 3gp files, midi files and txt files (which will display as ‘notes’ on phones) are known to work. But, YMMV.

Please look at the Bluetooth Spam project page for more details, although I must admit the documentation still lacks a lot. But hackers should be able to get it running ;-) For all the rest of you, I’ve promised people to document it better so keep an eye on this blog.
